Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer (QE) plays a crucial role in supporting the development implementation and continuous improvement of the Tellico quality management system. This position involves activities related to supplier quality internal process control and customer feedback. The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement throughout the facility by analyzing quality data prioritizing opportunities and leading enhancement initiatives across all operations.

Essential Functions:
Proactively facilitate the development of Quality Systems to provide consistent inspection and testing to meet company standards of good sound visual quality and functional reliability.
Support both internal and external quality processes.
Improve processes to reduce common cause variability and eliminate special cause by following Problem Solving techniques such as Six Sigma (DMAIC).
Ensure appropriate collection of quality data analyze the data for trends identify corrective action opportunities and drive corrective action activities.
Interpret basic technical drawings including characteristics such as views title blocks dimensioning tolerancing etc. Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics.
Assist in the development maintenance and reporting of quality measurements and analysis. Helps determine the adequacy and accuracy of quality standards. Where standards are not available coordinates their development.
Promote and ensure quality activities in manufacturing and support functions to assure that Quality Metrics improve.
Facilitate and train employee groups on process improvement and waste elimination techniques.
Lead teams in applying structured problemsolving methodology and tools to eliminate waste.
Investigate analyze and benchmark industry practices for process validation assessments.
Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
Actively support and lead our Corrective Action processes.
Perform special assignments as required.
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however others can be developed along the way.
Required Functions:
Use of structured quality improvement tools including six sigma tools.
Some common tools required to use are Process Map Pareto Chart Trend Chart Fishbone Diagram 5Why Analysis Histogram SPC FMEA 5S Correlation Analysis Errorproofing and Control Plans.
Preferred Functions:
Facilitate and train employee groups on process improvement and waste elimination techniques.
Lead teams in applying structured problemsolving methodology and tools to eliminate waste.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in a related engineering field required although consideration will be given to individuals with commensurate marine experience
Must be willing to complete additional advanced education/training courses as required.
Working Conditions:
Maintain cleanliness ensure safety compliance to include PPE adherence safety policy adherence and safe behaviors and conditions. Must possess the desire and ambition to always work safely and report all hazards to their supervisor immediately.
Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA DEP and other regulatory agencies.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated including but not limited to safety glasses hearing protection gloves etc.
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $57700 $92600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including jobrelated knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic location. In addition to base pay this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
