The Open Communications Systems (OCS) organization within Collins Aerospace is designing communications systems for Next Generation technologies across a wide variety of platforms

We are hiring a Principal Electrical Engineer to work onsite in Fort Wayne IN.

What You Will Do:

• Design analysis simulation test and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for modern communication systems

• Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors FPGAs memory and industry interfaces such as PCIe Ethernet I2C SPI and UART.

• Design and implement test plans to ensure compliance to requirements and specifications

• Work with third party vendors for design and component selection

• Work closely with different engineering disciplines

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

• Minimum of8 years of engineering digital circuit design experience to include at least 2 of the following:

• Development and design of electronic circuit designs multiassembly system/unit design

• Ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level to development of a complete hardware design and verification via test and integration

• Experience with PCB designprocess and expertise in tools used to design (schematic capture) analyze and simulate designs prior to hardware .

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizen are eligible for a security clearance

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active/current security clearance

• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

• Experience with embedded test techniques design for test design margin analysis and design for production

• Complex circuit card assemblies between 16 and 32 layers

• Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation(Siemens EDA)tools: DxDesigner xDX Designer VX and Xilinx (Zynq Ultrascale Vivado Atrix)

• Experience using PCB electronic circuit design software: HyperLynx signal integrity power integrity and analog simulation Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB)

• Knowledge of software and/or FPGA code development

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
