Speech Language Pathologist PRN First Shift Speech & Hearing Department

UC Health is hiring a PRN SpeechLanguage Pathologist for the first shift for the Speech and Hearing department at West Chester Hospital.

The SpeechLanguage Pathologist will support West Chester Hospitals rehabilitation services department delivering highquality care to patients based on assessed needs established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

  • 15 yearsserving the West Chester and Butler County community.
  • 216licensed beds
  • Level III trauma center


Responsibilities
  • The speechlanguage pathologists (SLPs) are dedicated to providing a range of services to adults including assessment diagnosis and treatment of speech language cognitive linguistic and swallowing disorders. Detailed job responsibilities are as follows:
  • Prepares implements evaluates revises and coordinates an interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned within the time frame indicated by units standards of practice.
  • Communicates formulated plan of care as appropriate to all levels of associates involved in the patients care and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patients assessment and needs.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment and involves family/guardian in the assessment initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking accountability flexibility and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers colleagues and others.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Masters degree in speech language pathology.
  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA or working toward certification
  • Licensure by the State of Ohio
