Job Summary:

The marketing strategy manager is responsible for designing and managing customer engagement and retention strategies. This role will be responsible for building and managing the roadmap for Group 1s direct marketing programs and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement program changes. This person will also monitor customer and media trends to identify opportunities for new marketing programs and changes to existing ones. The ideal person can think strategically while working through the details to successfully implement a new program.

Roles and responsibilities:

Program strategy

  • Identify customer acquisition and retention program opportunities
  • Build business cases for new marketing programs and present to key stakeholders
  • Design customer lifecycle strategies to increase customer loyalty and grow customer lifetime value
  • Identify resources and technologies required to support new programs and strategies

Program management

  • Define and manage direct marketing program roadmaps
  • Define and manage program releases and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement releases
  • Define requirements for technology projects to support marketing programs
  • Identify track and resolve program issues
  • Provide status updates to key stakeholders relating marketing projects

Industry trends and insights

  • Monitor customer behavior and media trends and opportunities
  • Identify customer lifecycle program best practices from other industries
  • Evaluate competitive environment and identify opportunities to differentiate Group 1
  • Define customer research opportunities to support program strategy development

Program tracking and evaluation

  • Define KPIs to monitor program performance
  • Define and manage customer holdout strategies
  • Evaluate performance of customer lifecycle programs and identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage business reviews for programs and present to key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5 years of marketing strategy and marketing program management experience
  • MBA preferred or equivalent advanced degree or experience
  • Ability to build and present business cases for new programs
  • Experience in automotive retail or ecommerce
  • Experience with marketing automation technologies
  • Experience managing customer lifecycle and loyalty programs
  • Deep understanding of marketing performance metrics
  • Experience with market and customer research
  • Experience building executive presentations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Accepts responsibility for quality of work and continuous improvement
  • Ability to translate business questions into analysis projects
  • Ability to interact with both technical and nontechnical personnel
  • Willingness to learn and test new tools and approaches to accelerate data analysis
