At Brandeis University we believe mental health is foundational to student success. Our Brandeis Counseling Center (BCC) plays a vital role in nurturing the emotional wellbeing of a dynamic richly varied student population and passionate student body. We are looking for a collaborative compassionate and visionary clinical leader to join our team as Associate Directorsomeone who is as committed to shaping inclusive mental health services as they are to mentoring future clinicians.

About the Role

As Associate Director you will be a key leader within BCChelping to guide the centers clinical vision strengthen therapeutic services and build a culture of care across campus. You will supervise and support a dedicated team of clinicians and trainees engage in strategic planning and work closely with campus partners to promote mental wellness universitywide.

What You will Do

  • Lead with impact: Supervise and mentor clinical staff and trainees; provide clinical oversight and ensure delivery of highquality evidenceinformed counseling services.

  • Support student wellness: Deliver shortterm solutionfocused individual therapy crisis intervention and group counseling as needed.

  • Drive highrisk case management: Oversee and consult on complex or highacuity cases ensuring timely and appropriate care.

  • Collaborate across campus: Work closely with departments including the Dean of Students Community Living and Public Safety to ensure holistic student support.

  • Shape strategy: Partner with the Director to develop innovative programming and outreach aligned with student needs and national best practices.

  • Foster learning: Lead inservice trainings facilitate seminars and offer clinical expertise to the BCC team and broader university staff.

  • Advance equity: Support our mission to be a multicultural affirming center that actively engages with issues of social justice and student identity.

  • Be a steady presence: Participate in the oncall rotation for afterhours emergencies and provide flexible support during peak campus periods.

What You Bring

  • A PhD or PsyD in Psychology EdD or MSW with LICSW licensure in Massachusetts.

  • 58 years of clinical experience in college or university counseling centers.

  • At least 3 years of experience in supervision leadership or team management.

  • A strong commitment to equity and antioppressive practiceand a track record of serving students from historically marginalized communities.

  • A warm teamoriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for being visible and involved on campus.

The Schedule

  • 12month oncampus role 35 hours/week MondayFriday 9 a.m. 5 p.m.

  • Flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends to support outreach and campus events.

  • One remote workday per week (depending on office coverage and student needs).
