As a Mechanical Systems Test Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical and Electrical test of rotating machines and power generation systems for the marine sector. You will also provide product test support from initial inquiry to project closure. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Leader you will perform both handson and officebased activities ensuring the timely testing of solutions that are safe and costeffective.
In this role you will focus on:
- Testing rotating machine systems of the highest quality from the receipt of an order to handover to the customer while complying with business procedures standards and regulations with a high focus on safety throughout.
- Support installation commissioning test fault finding and upkeep of electromechanical systems LV.
- Coordinate with design team to meet installation test and project objectives (Safety quality delivery and cost).
- Participate in plant control room operations and data acquisition.
- Undertake equipment installation maintenance and modifications.
- Supervise and manage subcontractors.
- Identify and propose improvements in processes tools and system solutions rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team.
- Maintain and promote the highest standards of Health and Safety.
- Integration of large electromechanical systems to test.
- Planning and executing relevant engineering activities to ensure projects attain ontime delivery cost and quality targets including testing and documentation.
- Taking part in phase reviews design reviews ILS reviews FMEA and determining their attendees objectives and next steps as well as acting as the review chairperson.
- Liaison with suppliers to produce quotations and support their site activities.
- Ensuring issued documents have been reviewed and are of the required quality with adherence to specifications and standards.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- A relevant degree In Electromechanical or equivalent qualifications.
- EHS and First Aid Certificates
- Electrical Competence LV Authorized
- Proven track record of testing Electromechanical systems in a professional engineering environment.
- Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (UK Eyes only)
- Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
