Job Description

Adjunct Instructor OT
JOB SUMMARY
The Adjunct Instructor OT will work with the School of Occupational Therapy faculty and staff to assist with planning directing and implementing programs policies and procedures ensuring the integration of evidenceinformed and occupationbased skills. The primary duty of the Adjunct Instructor OT will be to assist in educating entrylevel occupational therapy professionals pursuing a Doctor of Occupational Therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver course content to groups of occupational therapy students as directed by the course coordinator(s) Associate Dean and/or Dean.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students providing feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that the students of ACHE OT meet the standards established by the faculty and college; and obtain the knowledge skills and competency required.
  • Demonstrate and role model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues supervisors and support staff.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and the willingness to assist the college in fulfilling its mission and vision through teaching academic administrative duties providing patient care and community service and/or perform special duties as assigned.
  • Advance the prestige of ACHE through advancement of and avocation for its mission and vision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • Initially certified occupational therapy practitioner and licensed or eligible for license by the Arkansas State Medical Board.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates expertise in content area of need identified by ACHE School of Occupational Therapy necessary for a sound curriculum design and content delivery.
Required knowledge skills and abilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Display professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize numerous and varied assignments.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • May be exposed to short intermittent and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
  • May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include but not limited to pens pencils calculators computer keyboards telephone etc.
  • May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices conference rooms and on occasion to offcampus sites to attend meetings conferences workshops seminars etc.
  • May require significant travel or work away from campus.
  • Requires attendance at events representing ACHE both within as well as outside of the college setting.
  • Frequently required to work at a desk conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
  • Frequently required to see for purposes of reading matter.
  • Frequently required to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
  • Occasionally required to lift items in a normal office environment.
  • Frequently required to operate office and presentation equipment.
