JOB SUMMARY:
Perform technical work associated with installing testing maintaining calibrating and removing mechanical pneumatic electrical and electronic instruments controls and analyzers used in a power generating facility. Participation in the maintenance operator program is required. In addition to the primary maintenance skill this position requires shift support through operations and will be rolled onto a shift during unit operation or as required by business needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs adjusts tests repairs cleans and calibrates mechanical pneumatic electrical and electronic instruments control devices and analyzer used on all plant equipment including pressure gauges flow meters thermocouples temperature gauges control switches voltmeters and indicators of speed level and position associated with power generating stations.
- Ability to work with a wide array of trade related hand tools and test equipment.
- Proficient in all Emissions Monitoring systems and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair CEM systems and related equipment
- Analyzes faulty instruments and controls; adjusts and repairs as necessary.
- Sets up test instruments and equipment for routine testing.
- Calibrates a range of meters instruments and controls; assists with the calibration of the more complex instruments and controls.
- Maintains files of instrument and control instructions books and prints.
- Uses inspects and maintains laboratory instruments and related testing equipment. Draws and uses various sketches and schematic diagrams in connection with the work.
- Performs laboratory testing as required.
- Proficiency in the use of computers MS Office Suite and trade related programs.
- Detailed experience in PLCs reading and writing ladder logic and the ability to program digital recorders and like equipment.
- Experienced in DCS Control Systems Engineering Workstation operations and loop tuning.
- Proficiently use the SAP to properly support workflow and time keeping.
- Assists in the preparation of detailed written procedures for performing planned and corrective maintenance.
- Support plant outages and is available during off hours as necessary to support the success of the facility.
- Will progress through the operating training at Devon and qualify as a Maintenance Operator.
- This position requires shift operations duties and will be rolled onto a shift as required by business needs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of experience in a related instrument field.
- Thorough knowledge of power generation unit instrumentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot instrument problems and make recommendations.
- Must successfully pass the NRG Skills Assessment exam
- Valid drivers license
PREFERRED
- Associates Degree in a related field.
- Previous Utility Level Power Plant I&C experience. Navy I&C/ Electronics Tech may substitute experience for the right candidate
