You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder established policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines is responsible for directing and coordinating clinical and other activities as assigned. Through subordinate personnel directs the operations of assigned services and ensures quality patient care is provided.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Develop refine and enhance quality improvement programs. Develop growth initiatives including but not limited to budgetary financial & resource management using human resources to foster the growth and development of others. Successfully meet or exceed goals in fiscal quality & safety national benchmarks and customer service targets.
2. Prepare and maintain regulatory requirements including TJC OSHA etc.
3. Achieve an empowered goal oriented care team with visionary transformational leadership skills. Lead for results that exceed goals and targets in key areas including clinical quality service excellence regulatory and compliance delivery systems leadership financial management and professionalism.
4. Develop systems and programs that identify and mitigate risks regarding Behavioral Health department care. Demonstrate knowledge and forecast equipment needs which includes purchase maintenance repair inventory and replacement.
5. Hire retain develop and promote talented people and build successful teams noted for positive professional accountability patient advocacy and high ethical standards.
6. Respond to any emergency to promote patient outcomes to include patient/family concerns.
7. Utilize clinical expertise to assess evaluate implement applicable clinical standards of care and educational opportunities and develop an accountable environment that adapts to the changing complexity of Behavioral Health care while providing safe quality care to the community.
8. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for the benefit of establishing trust and developing shared visions for growth. Lead educational initiatives/programs to provide a continuous learning environment resulting in high clinical competency of the staff.
9. Conduct performance reviews to enhance staff growth establish personal goals and promote engagement in professional development and clinical expertise.
10. Proactively engages in personal and professional growth of self and staff and serves as a role model by actively participating in nursing specialty organizations.
11. Undertakes a servicebased approach and engages with the community implementing community preventive treatment programs and promoting the organization to exceed patient/family and staff expectations.
12. Effectively produces cogent and persuasive written materials and presentations to diverse audiences to include nursing medical staff the community and organizational audiences.
13. Manages day to day operations of Patient Safety Assistants to ensure the safe delivery of care to patients in the emergency department inpatient psychiatric unit acute care and ICU.
14. Educates patient safety assistants ton all aspects of patient safety and ensures competencies.
15. Manages workforce budget and ensures safe staffing of patient safety assistants in conjunction with administrative supervisors to meet Hospital needs.
16. The incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of Accredited Baccalaureate of Science Nursing Program or equivalent Bachelors Degree in related field is required

Flexibility to work a varying schedule due to changing patient census and staffing needs which may require working greater than 40 hours per week or shift durations that exceed the assigned status
Ability to flex and prioritize work load according to department needs or organizational initiatives
Years of Experience: Minimum of five or more years clinical Behavioral Health nursing expertise including 3 years or more in Behavioral Health Leadership or progressive increased responsibility and leadership experience understanding of Behavioral Health clinical practice
License: current State of Michigan RN license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of Accredited Master of Science Nursing Program or equivalent Masters Degree in related field

Actively participates in nursing specialty organizations
