recruiting for fulltimeEligibility Technician 2 located in
Juneau Alaska.



What You Will Be Doing
The Eligibility Technician 2 is responsible for supervising the case management of families receiving childcare assistance including processing applications conducting financial calculations and maintaining records in ORCA and ICCIS. Additionally the individual will assess families eligibility for various commodity items based on division criteria and gather essential information to reconcile unit credit card purchases. Overall this position involves overseeing case management eligibility assessment and credit card purchase reconciliation for families.

Working Environment You Can Expect
This position is located in the Goldstein Building in beautiful downtown Juneau. We are surrounded by fantastic views of mountains the Gastineau Channel and are conveniently located near many restaurants and stores for easy access to lunch and shopping. We are also located near the Downtown Transit Center if taking the bus is your preferred method of travel.

We are Seeking a Candidate with the Following Competencies:
  1. Reading: Understands and interprets written material including technical material rules regulations instructions reports charts graphs or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
  2. Reasoning: Identifies rules principles or relationships that explain facts data or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  3. Adaptability: adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
  4. Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers organizes and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy and communicates it by a variety of methods.
  5. Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.

Special Note
  • All positions require valid ID and successful completion of a background investigation including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
  • The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.

One year of entry level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;

OR

One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.

Substitution:
Postsecondary education in such fields as sociology social work psychology counseling human services vocational rehabilitation developmental disabilities behavioral sciences business public administration or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month).
