Job Description
Renders professional collaborative care to adult patients under the direction of a member of the medical staff and in accordance with the healthcare practitioners treatment plan standards of care and the professional code of ethics.
The Nurse Practitioner is committed to promoting the health potential of the whole person and assuring optimal care through assessing planning implementing and evaluating patient care. Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriately and direct staff in the coordination and delivery of care; assumes accountability for the appropriate utilization of resources; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem solving; is sensitive to the needs of patients families physicians and coworkers. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission core and share values.
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments
- Assures safe high quality patient care is administered to cardiovascular patients
- Outpatient clinic experience required.
- Stress testing (echo exercise nuclear and dobutamine) experience required.
- Follow up on established and postoperative cardiology patients
- Assist in the management and treatment of Atrial Fibrillation patients
- Proactively identify complications encompassing medical and surgical complications and communicate findings
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have two years of experience working as NP in related field.
- Masters degree in nursing; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Unrestricted APN Nurse Practitioner License in Colorado (DORA)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) with cards inhand before start date.
- This position is for a Nurse Practitioner; Physician Assistants are not being considered for this particular position.
