The Corporate & Foundation Relations Director gathers information about prospective foundation benefactors qualifies cultivates and develops relationships to pursue and procure gifts and grants that align with Mayo Clinic funding priorities. The Corporate & Foundation Relations Director manages a portfolio of prospects with a focus on identifying and prioritizing foundation prospects with the capacity to make gifts and grants of $and above. The Corporate & Foundation Relations Director develops and cultivates relationships with internal personnel such as clinicians and researchers research administration principal investigators and clinical administration as well as collaborates with CFR colleagues to share relevant information. The Corporate & Foundation Relations Director writes grants proposals maintains accurate and current CRM information about potential benefactors serves on workstreams as needed and performs other duties as assigned. Development professionals at Mayo Clinic must adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights and ethical standards set forth for the department and institution.
Bachelors Degree Required. Masters preferred and/or fundraising certification is preferred. Requires 7 years of CFR and grantwriting experience with a demonstrated track record of securing foundation gifts and grants at $1000000. Foundation relations in healthcare preferred. Incumbent must be a selfmotivated selfdirected and highly organized individual who will promote a productive and collegial workplace and be a professional ambassador for Mayo Clinic at the highest levels. Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential.
Requires extensive knowledge of principles and methods of foundation fundraising and grant writing. The incumbent must be able to work in a complex environment with multidimensional points of view and priorities possessing organizational agility political savviness and perseverance and be comfortable with ambiguity. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a consensusstyle operation that expects and promotes teamwork. He or she must have the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively; must be able to network and build relationships and to lead the creation of compelling proposal for funding purposes. The incumbent must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines with minimal supervision; take the lead on projects and take initiative when needed as well as be organized and able to balance multiple relationships and priorities. The incumbent must maintain a high degree of professionalism; confidentiality is essential. Finally must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suites other information technology and management of database systems.
