The Opportunity:

This is a full time regular assignment* open to all current regular probationary/trial service and limited duration or those in a paid or unpaid internship program of Multnomah County who are on approved leave or on an active recall list.

Overview

At the Department of County Management (DCM) the public service we carry out is essential to the operation of Multnomah County as a government as well as an employer. The Division of Assessment Recording and Taxation (DART) strives to ensure the stability and quality of life for our community by providing local government with the revenues necessary to fund essential services. The primary role of DART staff members is to carry out the functions of the Assessors Office in a manner that is friendly respectful resourceful and willing in order to create an environment of safety trust and belonging for all.

About The Position:

The Property Appraiser Sr. classification is the advanced journeylevel paraprofessional in the Property Appraiser classification series that performs the most difficult and complex assignments requiring a higher level of responsibility applying advanced subject knowledge leading others in assigned tasks and exercising significant independent judgment and initiative. They will review others work. Their own work is reviewed for technical accuracy compliance to program objectives and overall results.

This recruitment may be used to fill future fulltime parttime temporary limited duration and oncall positions.

Type of Position: This is an hourly union represented position that is eligible for overtime pay.

Equal Pay Law:

Please be advised that the pay range listed for this position is intended to provide general guidance on the earning potential for the role. However actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidates relevant experience education seniority training and/or tenure. Candidates should expect that initial offers will be made within the listed pay range and may not be at or near the top of the range.

Work Location: This position works onsite at the Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.

Routine Telework: This position is eligible for routine telework meaning you can work remotely (from home). As with all routine telework positions employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.

Schedule: Monday Friday; There may be some flexibility with start and end times

Serving the Public Even During Disasters

Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
