Who Are We: Extension: are lots of great reasons to work atOSU check out our great benefits and eligibility at Details: The district 4H youth development program specialist will 1 provide leadership and support to county 4H staff in planning developing implementing and evaluating 4H Youth Development programs in the assigned district to ensure the quality of county and district 4H programs; 2 provide professional development for county 4H staff in the district; and 3 serve on statewide activities for 4H program/curriculum areas as designated.
The 4H District Program Specialist is a member of the assigned district under the supervision of the District Extension Director who will receive performance related input from the Assistant Director/State 4H Program Leader. The 4H District Program Specialist is also a member of the state 4H team for program development. Programmatic leadership efforts are under the direction of the Assistant Director/State 4H Program Leader and done in cooperation with other state 4H faculty/staff. Due to communication expectations of the position the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication devices. The incumbents salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required:Masters degree A Degree in Youth Development is preferred. Degrees in other disciplines such as Agriculture and Family and Consumer Sciences will be considered for candidates with professional 4H Youth Development experience. *Valid Drivers transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel.
* Five or more years of successful professional work experience with a minimum of three years of Cooperative Extension work.
*Additional consideration will be given to experience training and educational background in youthrelated work.
*Proven leadership and program development experience.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to relate effectively with county staff and lay leaders.
*Demonstrated organizational development and management skills.
*Knowledge of and the ability to utilize electronic communications and computer technology skills for communication and program management.
*Willingness to work within a flexible time frame which includes evenings and weekends and be willing to travel throughout the district and state.
