Maritz is adding an Associate Data Scientist to our growing Decision Sciences team! The Associate Data Scientist will leverage data analysis experimentation machine learning business acumen and data storytelling to create value for our internal Maritz clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating value through datadriven insights and solutions and a passion for driving impact through the effective communication of findings to nontechnical stakeholders.The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for using data to solve problems a proven track record of analyzing complex datasets demonstrated ability in supporting business improvement initiatives and the ability to effectively communicate results to nontechnical stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role in our Fenton MO campus.
25 Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to understand opportunities and translate those into detailed analyses and data stories that will help drive improvement with the business. Manage multiple projects deadlines and stakeholders while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.
25 Develop design and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor business performance. Work with IT and Data Engineering teams to build requirements gather data from appropriate sources and build data models. Leverage tools like Big Query SQL Server Google Data Studio Tableau and excel to build maintain and update dashboards.
25 Apply techniques like experimental design machine learning and causal inference to address business needs often working in tandem with and learning from Senior Data Scientists on our team. Design and analyze A/B tests and controlled experiments to iteratively improve things like targeted email sends and onsite changes. Design machine learning models for tasks like customer segmentation sales forecasting and churn prediction. Use techniques like propensity score matching for tasks like establishing the lift resulting from program changes.
25 Communicate complex data findings and resulting opportunities for business improvement to both technical and nontechnical audiences in a clear and concise manner. Incorporate clientfacing skills with data storytelling to share insights with stakeholders. Connect insights in data to business realities to develop strategic business recommendations and actions.
Qualifications
1 years of experience serving internal or external clients in a business environment in a data role.
1 years of experience translating data into engaging stories with actionable insights.
1 years of experience using relational database systems and SQL.
1 years of experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and/or controlled experiments.
Must be proficient in SQL and either Python or R.
Must thrive when presenting complex analyses to nontechnical stakeholders.
Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects for multiple stakeholders.
Experience working in retail marketing rewards or loyalty a plus.
Experience working with consumer program and/or platform data is a plus.
Experience with machine learning or causal inference is a plus.
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in analytics statistics data science economics business or other relevant discipline required.
