CEI Contract Support Specialist Jacksonville FL (District 2

Summary
This position is responsible for Contract Administration of CEI work for FDOT projects. The CSS will perform basic contract administration functions for civil transportation projects. The CSS will work under the supervision of the Project Administrator and Senior Project Engineer. This is a fulltime position. The CSS will need to travel to FDOT Offices and Project Offices. This position may work weekends based on the project demands.
Responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Ability to analyze contract quantities to prevent overruns and underruns.
  • Ability to become proficient in Trimble Business Center Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surfacetosurface comparison software and Engineering Menu.
  • Proficiency in the knowledge and expertise to:
    • Understand which surfaces are needed from the designer.
    • Understand the survey data from the field.
    • Prepare the survey data as needed for use in the software.
    • Generate accurate earthwork quantities from the software.
  • Responsible for exercising independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project.
  • Responsible for performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
  • Responsible for familiarity with the Departments Procedures covering the projectrelated duties as stated above and proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
  • Knowledge of SiteManager/PrC.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Programs including creating spreadsheets with formulas.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • For personnel with engineering engineering technology and construction management degrees:
    • No prior experience is required.
  • For personnel without engineering engineering technology or construction management degrees:
    • Four 4 years of CEI experience having performed/assisted in projectrelated duties (i.e. Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System input progress and final estimates EEO compliance processing Construction Contract changes etc.; or
    • Two 2 years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD.
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II required.
  • A valid Drivers License is required with a safe driving record and must complete a preemployment screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • ICE is a drugfree workplace.
Physical Demands
The role involves moderate physical activity such as walking standing bending and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds. It is essential for employees to navigate construction sites skillfully and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures.
Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects and proficiency in recognizing sound tone and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods. Employees must be capable of working in varied environmental conditions including hot cold and noisy settings and be able to stand and walk during site visits. Additionally working on construction projects may involve night work and weekend work depending on the project scopee and may include working in conditions with active traffic.
Expected Hours of Work
The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
