Direct Support Professional Residential
Full Time 2nd shift
Wage $19.50/per hr starting wage

These are a few of the things a DSP will do:
- Provide training and assistance to the people who receive services in order to help them develop and/or improve independent living skills such as cooking housekeeping laundry skills grocery shopping etc.
- Provide assistance and training to people who receive services to assist them in developing and/or improving personal care skills; i.e. showering tooth brushing toileting bathing etc.
- Providing training in money management such as budgeting banking and making appropriate purchases.
- Administering medications and documentation according to OPWDD and agency procedure.
- Completing documention on the computer according to OPWDD and agency procedure.
- Accompanying people who live in the homes to the grocery stores and other stores for onsite training in purchasing.
- Transporting people who receive services and assisting with appointments recreational and/or other activities as needed.
What attributes are we seeking in a Direct Support Professional
Someone who has initiative and is: caring respectful positive dependable punctual and likes to work as part of a close team.
- High School Graduate or GED
- A valid drivers license and good driving record acceptable to the Agencys insurance carrier.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and not have any lifting restrictions which would prohibit assisting with toileting transfers physical intervention lifting etc.
