About the Department
San Jos Clean Energy or SJCE is San Joss local notforprofit electricity supplieroperatedby the City of San Joss Energy Department. Since 2019 our dedicated and motivated team has provided clean energy for residents and businesses at competitive rates while also offering community programs local benefits and increased transparency and accessibility. SJCE serves more than 350000 customer accounts and has contracted for more than 1 GW of power.

The Energy Department is looking to fill one 1 PartTime Graduate Student Intern (Unclassified) position
Salary range for this classification is:
$19.82 $29.27 Hourly
This amount includes an approximate five percent 5 ongoing nonpensionable pay. Actual salary shall bedeterminedby the final candidates qualifications and experience.
The Graduate Student Intern will play a key role in ensuringtimelyprogress on departmental priorities including:
Local gardener outreach and engagement to support development of an electric leaf blower program; collaborate with a vendor to organize trainings
Clean energy education campaigns: transportation electrification and home electrification
Event coordination
Support community events and provide bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese) staffing
Research and other tactical support
Conduct research and community engagement in preparation of the 2026 Programs Roadmap
Research and forge new relationships with communitybased organizations and neighborhood groups
Mobile home park research outreach and engagement to support development of a mobile home needs assessment
