Job Description
Founded in 1973 DJ&A is a multidisciplinary professional services consulting firm with office locations in Montana Colorado Washington South Dakota New Mexico and Nevada. Our team of more than 180 professionals works across the country to deliver a diverse range of engineering environmental survey mapping landscape architecture and planning projects for federal state local tribal and private clientele.
DJ&A is seeking a fulltime Senior Project Manager with 15 years (or a Project Manager with 10 years) of relevant experience including 2years of leadership and supervision. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of the design engineering and survey industry and a strongunderstanding of the regional and local market drivers and trends. The successful candidate must alsohaveexperienceandskillsinstrategicbusinessdevelopmentcoworker andclientrelationshipsnetworkingandproject management.
Preferredprojectexperiencewith:
- Experience delivering and leading complex multidisciplinary transportation projects for state departments of transportation local federal and/or tribal clients.
- Experience and working knowledge of Montana Department of Transportation.
- Knowledgeoffederalcontractingrequirements.
PrimaryDutiesandResponsibilities:
Project Management:
- Applyadvancedknowledgetofacilitatethecompletionofhighquality costeffectiveprojects.
- Plan lead direct monitor and/orsupportteamsinthedesignanddeliveryofinfrastructureprojects varyinginsizeand complexity from conception to completion. Areas of expertise could be in civil engineeringroad designsurveyingenvironmentaltransportation engineeringconstruction engineering and/or management.
- Undertakefullresponsibility forprojectdeliveryandintegrateelementsofprojectmanagementthroughouttheprojectlifecycle including construction engineering services.
- Managemultipleprojectsconcurrentlyandensureprojectobjectivesaremetanddeliveryisachievedwithinthesettimeandbudget.
- Coordinatewithotherteammemberstoensureschedulesbudgetsqualityandagencyrequirementsspecifications andstandardsareachieved.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams of specialty subcontractors (e.g. geotechnical electrical).
- Managethefinancialsuccessofprojectsinconjunctionwiththeprojectcoordinatoraccountingmanager andgroupleader.
- Establishandmaintainclientcontactsontechnicalandprojectadministrationmatters.
- ImplementQA/QCprocedures.
Staff Development:
- Have a passion for leadership mentoring and career development of supervised staff members.
- Assignandreviewworkofstaffincludingtechnicaldocumentationdrawingsandspecifications.
- Providetechnicalguidanceandtrainingforstaff.
- EngageinrecruitingandretentioneffortstoensureDJ&Ahiresthebesttalentandsupportsprocesses thatencouragestafflongevity.
- Be accountable for staff performance and results.
BusinessDevelopment:
- Support business development activities through early client interaction scope of work development interviews and ongoing client relationships.
- Participate in strategy development strategic pursuit development competitor analysis and research for the market area and growth opportunities based on trends.
- Ensureclientsuccessandsatisfaction.
- Manageandpreparestrategic/keyproposalscontractingandteamingnegotiations and establishingsustainablerelationshipswithkeyconsultantstosupportgrowthinitiatives.
- Attendmarketing/captureupdatecallsandensureallassignedopportunitiesarekeptcurrentintrackingsystem.

EducationandExperience:
- Professionallicensure inrespectiveprofessionaldisciplines(engineeringplanningetc.
- Ten or more yearsofrelatedexperience.
- Twoor moreyearsofleadershipexperience.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation (ORD) and/or AutoCAD.
PhysicalRequirements:
- Prolongedperiodssitting atadeskandworking onacomputer.
- Mustbe abletolift upto15 poundsattimes.
- Mustbe abletotravelto variousprojectsites.
- Mustbe abletoaccessandnavigatejobsitesandconstructionareas.
