GENERAL SUMMARY
This role is responsible implementing and administering information systems for the imaging and other areas.
EDUCATION LICENSURE REGISTRATION EXPERIENCE and KSAs:
1. 3 years hospitalbased healthcare or information systems support experience
2. 3 years experience in a diagnostic imaging environment
3. A radiology technician or clinical IT professional with extensive experience in radiology or imaging systems
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Selfdirected motivated
6. Project management skills (Planning Organizing Directing)
7. Strong skills in systematic program development and analysis

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Following are the position specific duties. Please indicate how the employee performed on each by

1. Ensures timely and complete image acquisition archiving validation in the PACs and other imaging
systems and exceptions handling.
2. Provides secondary support for the RIS analyst in providing support for the radiology information system.
3. Identifies troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware problems related to Imaging PACS and
radiology related equipment.
4. Investigates identifies and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems. Performs cost and
benefit analysis to establish proposals worth and/or anticipated return on investment including the
development of alternatives and recommendations for new acquisitions or changes to existing applications
and equipment.
5. Develops project plans to add or update radiology equipment software and hardware upgrades and other
system related enhancements.
6. Participates in strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives. Identifies future needs and designs efficient
workflow processes to integrate new technology into operations.
7. Validates the design for each application assigned under the control of the change management application
and user development request.
8. Coordinates the activities of vendors in all phases of Imaging and PACS equipment repair upgrade and
installation.
9. Trains radiologists technologists and transcriptionists on integrated RIS/PACS workflow.
10. Coordinates development of application testing scripts and conversion plans. Participates in testing as
assigned.
11. Develops operating standards policies and procedures. Reviews feedback from customers compiles and
analyzes support data and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
12. Prepares and maintains uptodate documentation including system specifications technical documentation
computer training materials and user manuals.
13. Prepares reports for organizational leaders on all aspects of medical imaging operations as appropriate or
directed.
14. Acts as a liaison and/or team member for digital imaging initiatives and projects within the organization.
