We have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Banking team within the
Finance team.
This role will provide support to the Banking and wider Finance team by helping to prepare store banking reconciliations Retail Operations reporting and monthend journals. Assistant Accountants are also a key member of the finance team who are responsible for the finalisation of monthend and yearend accounts
The role
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of:
- Daily Banking Functions & reporting
- Daily Banking reconciliations for stores
- Weekly Cash variance & missed banking reporting
- Variance investigations and working with Loss Prevention team
- Weekly Petty Cash expenditure reporting
- Weekly upload of bank statement into Oracle
- Weekly AP payment reconciliations in Oracle
- Monthly Gift voucher liability reconciliations and reporting
- Monthend functions & reporting
- Daily Zendesk ticket management
- Daily Finance Support inbox management
- Annual Sales audit certificate preparations and reconciliations
- Adhoc reporting and analysis as required
About you
- Bachelors degree with Accounting or Finance major
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Oracle Fusion experience
- A capacity and desire to be agile in a fast paced environment
- A growth mindset in all you do
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Office products
- An understanding of core accounting principles
- Proven ability to plan organise and deliver results on time in a fastpaced environment
- Flexible and adaptable
