Job Description

Overview
The ICU Registrar Consultant plays a pivotal role in the healthcare system in Bhiwani Haryana ensuring that critically ill patients receive the highest level of medical care and supervision. This specialist not only contributes to emergency and intensive care services but also acts as a bridge between junior staff and senior consultants fostering better clinical outcomes through effective communication and clinical decisionmaking. Their expertise is essential in implementing critical care protocols making rapid assessments and managing complex cases in the ICU setting. The ICU Registrar Consultant is responsible for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams which includes nurses respiratory therapists and other specialists to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient s needs. With a focus on quality assurance and adherence to safety practices this role is vital for improving patient survival rates and overall satisfaction within the unit. Furthermore the consultant should actively participate in training and mentoring junior medical staff thereby enhancing the skill level within the team and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of critically ill patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Perform emergency procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
  • Provide clinical leadership to junior medical staff.
  • Educate patients families regarding their care and treatment options.
  • Document all patient interactions and care outcomes accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss patient performance and challenges.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new staff in ICU protocols.
  • Engage in continued education and professional development opportunities.
  • Act as a consultant to other departments regarding critical care management.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of advancements in critical care medicine.
  • Handle complex cases and consult with senior physicians when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Anesthesia.
  • Board certification in Critical Care or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in managing critical illnesses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
  • Experience with advanced monitoring and therapeutic equipment.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in highpressure environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • EMT or ACLS certification is a plus.
  • Commitment to patientcentered care.
