Job Description

Are you passionate about inspiring students to pursue STEM subjects by bringing new technology to classrooms across the world Are you interested in particle detector technology and motivated to share your knowledge with others

As a Scientific Education Project Coordinator in the Business Development (BD) Section of the Knowledge Transfer (KT) Group within the Industry Procurement and Knowledge Transfer (IPT) Department youll contribute to the project. An initiative based on CERN technology the TIMEPIX project aims to bring the same technology used in the International Space Station (ISS) to schools across the world.

Based within CERNs Knowledge Transfer group youll be working closely with the Spokesperson of the Medipix2 Collaboration (or their appointed representative).

Your responsibilities:

  • Creation and curation of teaching resources for the project;
  • Creation of a users guide to the technology;
  • Oversee logistical support for users of the technology across the globe;
  • Production and curation of short videos of role models using pixel detector technology and/or working with STEM;
  • Organisation of the annual call for proposals and the annual users meeting.

 

Your profile

Skills:

  • Experience with science education and/or scientific outreach;
  • Knowledge of and experience with microelectronics and detectors;
  • Experience with multistakeholder project management;
  • Previous experience working at a scientific institute would be an advantage;
  • Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French.

Contract duration: 24 months with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week
