Under the direction of the Dean of the General Education Pathway or designee instructor will develop and teach concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. Position requires teaching coursesinpersonat MATC campuses business community other sites and/or online during the day evening and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings department and college functions course and curriculum development in both traditional and nontraditional formats.Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teachingrelated activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program participate in efforts to recruit and retain students and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and followup.
- Maintain certification continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Must have a masters degree or higher in EnglishORMasters degree or higher in a related discipline (which may include but is not limited to communications comparative literature language arts writing journalism speech reading theater arts or liberal studies) with at least 18 GRADUATE level coursework credits in English. A concentration in reading and writing is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous post secondary teaching experience
- Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including inperson and online
- Experience teaching composition and/or literature
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Arabic

Experience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies:- Online Information Management Systems Experience with SerfService or other online information management systems used for student advising student programs grading class schedules and rosters
- Blackboard Ultra Experience with Blackboard or other webbased course management systems
- Technologybased Instruction Experience with technologybased instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium interactive touch screen monitors LCD projectors DVD players and/or other classroom technology
- Emerging Technologies Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications).
Supplemental Information
Start Date: Currently hiring two fulltime English Instructors to support the General Education Pathway.Position start date is August 2025.
Hours: This position is a 1.0 FTE; 32 weekly hours. Hours location and modality are based on enrollment and departmental need. Employees will conduct all work hours in theState of Wisconsin performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Salary: Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2024/2025 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
