Instructional DeliveryPrepare and deliver engaging instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.
Classroom/Laboratory ManagementManage classroom/laboratory environments to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
Curriculum Development Develop monitor and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and relevance.
Resource Management Manage equipment supplies and materials necessary for instructional activities.
Student Assessment Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
Student Advising Advises students on academic matters and provides guidance to support their educational journey.
Collaboration:Collaborate with advisory committees colleagues and industry partners to enhance program effectiveness.
Meeting Participation Attend departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to academic planning and decisionmaking.
Promotion and Recruitment Promote educational programs participate in student recruitment efforts and support initiatives to retain students.
Student Support Support student organizations and activities to enrich their educational experience.
Industry Engagement Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to facilitate student opportunities and program growth.
Evaluation and Professional Development Complete program evaluations engage in continuous professional development and stay current in the field.
Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution.
Qualifications
Required EducationAssociates Degree or higher in any field or educational equivalency:
*Educational equivalency: Occupational experience combined with education and training totaling seven years 14000 hours)Required Occupational Experience5 years 10000 of fulltime experience as a licensed Aesthetician or Aesthetician Instructor.
In addition at least one of the following must be met:- Three 3 years of related work experience in the last 5 years must have occurred in a Spa setting
- Two years of teaching aesthetics or cosmetology coursework at the postsecondary level within the last 5 years at an accredited school of Cosmetology of Aesthetics
Required LicensureMust have a valid State of Wisconsin Cosmetologist or Aesthetician license*Certifications are required in microdermabrasion and chemical exfoliationStandards of Teaching ExcellenceUnderstanding Students and Fostering Student SuccessClassroom ManagementPlanning/OrganizationContent Mastery and CurrencyTeaching Methodology andAssessment of Student Learning Professional Contributions
Essential TechnologyExperience with an Email system (Gmail Outlook)Telephone Experience with a voice mail system and Computer Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google
Essential Supportive TechnologyExperience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies:Online Information Management Systems Experience with INFOnline or other online information management systems used for student advising student programs grading class schedules and rosters
Blackboard Experience with Blackboard or other webbased course management systems
Technologybased Instruction Experience with technologybased instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium interactive touch screen monitors LCD projectors DVD players and/or other classroom technology
Emerging Technologies Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)

InterviewAs part of the interview process selected candidates are required to prepare a teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes which may be conducted inperson or virtually.

SalaryThe starting hourly wage for all parttime faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Parttime faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is nonnegotiable.
