What Were Looking For

This position works within the Systems Support Team and will support the mission of the University through the planning design and implementation of secure compliant technology systems. The candidate will help design and support solutions including physical onpremises technology and cloudbased enclaves to support researchers with projects that require high security compliant environments. They will support servers workstations and virtual computers including deployment patching upgrading and disposition. The candidate will plan and coordinate upgrades changes and/or implementations in accordance with established change control procedures. The candidate will be responsible for understanding implementing and documenting compliance with rigorous data and infrastructure security controls.

The candidate will need the ability to relate to endusers having various levels of technological aptitude providing exceptional customer service with a passionate drive to exceed expectations. They will also need an ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple incidents and tasks while maintaining a deep working knowledge of enterprise Windows Linux and Apple computing environments. The candidate will need strong problem solving analytical and time management skills with the ability to adapt technological solutions within Baylor policies guidelines and procedures with resiliency flexibility and determination in face of setbacks.

A bachelors degree with 3 years of relevant experience is required. Five years of relevant work experience is preferred. Experience and education will not be considered in lieu of one another. This position is located in Waco TX.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for managing custom and thirdparty software and systems for researchacademic departments of the university.
  • Understand and implement security standards such as NIST 800171 in a secure research environment.
  • Work closely with ITS Security and other ITS staff functional teams and vendors to provide strategic and technical support and management of enterprise applications and systems.
  • Manage multiple complex enterprise projects concurrently.
  • Work independently to perform a full range of responsibilities including analyzing diverse problems and determining solutions and understanding and applying industry best practices.
  • Implement device management standards remediating vulnerabilities and deploying patches and updates with endpoint management tools.
  • Provide a variety of IT services including technical analysis configuration implementation and maintenance of various enterprise software systems and databases.
  • Assignments may include reviewing vendor upgrades/patches investigating new vendor software or product issues maintaining a service management solution production support and technical documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication and project planning across technical and functional teams including remote colleagues that support the universitys departmental systems.
  • Maintain an indepth understanding the enterprise software portfolio managing installations and upgrades crosstraining and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Mastery of one or more relevant technologies and/or techniques and ability to train and mentor others.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information processed stored or accessed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
