Job Description

Overview:

This is a provisional appointment.

Under general supervision the Assistant Principal Accountant will be assigned to the Payroll Unit of the Finance Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing daily time reporting for over 3000 Department employees.
  • Verifying time reporting is consistent with scheduled work hours for employees.
  • Researching issues related to employees regular weekly and annual earnings.
  • Completing income verification requests from financial institutions.
  • Performing related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two 2 years of fulltime or equivalent parttime paid professional experience in payroll bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • It is strongly preferred that applicants have proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK REQUIRED

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
