JOB TITLE: Adjunct CDL Class B Instructor

SALARY COMPENSATION PACKAGE: $45.00/hour
CAMPUS: Franklin Road/South Penn
DEPARTMENT: Aerospace & Transportation
WORK PERIOD: MondayFriday hours may vary.

Job Objective: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced CDL Class B Instructor to train and prepare students for obtaining their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B in Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will have handson experience in commercial driving a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing commercial vehicle operation.

Responsibilities:

Instruct students in classroom and handson driving training to prepare them for the CDL Class B exam.
Teach safe driving techniques vehicle inspections and defensive driving skills.
Provide training on air brakes pretrip inspections maneuvering and road skills.
Ensure compliance with Oklahoma Department of Public Safety/Service Oklahoma and FMCSA regulations.
Conduct evaluations and assessments to track student progress.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance performance and certification results.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help students improve their driving skills.
Ensure all training equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
Stay uptodate on changes to CDL laws and training requirements.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with a clean driving record.
Knowledge of FMCSA and Oklahoma state regulations.
Strong communication and instructional skills.
Patience and ability to work with students of various skill levels.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Instructor certification (if required by Oklahoma state regulations) or willingness to obtain it.
Experience operating air brake systems and passenger or freight vehicles.
Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and DOT regulations.

Experience: Minimum 35 years of commercial driving experience (bus delivery truck dump truck etc.. Prior experience as a CDL instructor preferred but not required.
