Job Summary
Wardrobe Supervisor serves as head of the costume run crew for PTC productions. They oversee dressing room and quick change setup costume tracking offstage (ands sometimes onstage) changes and maintenance of costumes for the run of show as well as the strike and turnover into the next production.
Responsibilities
Staffing and overseeing and setting the schedules for the costume crew members as per the needs and budget of each individual show. Attending all designer runs dress rehearsals and performances. Communicating with stage management and attending rehearsals as necessary in order to accurately time and track costume changes in each production. Creating costume tracking paperwork appropriate to each production and instructing costume crews to accurately execute those tracks. Setting up dressing rooms areas and any necessary quickchange stations as per production needs. Ensuring that appropriate safety and health protocols are taken and maintained within the crew that the wardrobe supervisor oversees and in the interactions between the crew and the performers. Overseeing maintenance of costumes including laundry dry cleaning and minor repairs and communicating larger repairs to the costume studio stitchers. Working with the wigs department to help facilitate wig maintenance and notes throughout the run of shows. Fulfilling various duties as needed within the costume department during the times between productions including but not limited to: stitching stock maintenance assisting designers or the studio manager assisting wigs general organization etc.
