Location
The role is Hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent in the Leatherhead office.
Security Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance for this role which requires UK Nationality and 5year footprint living and working in the UK.
The Role
Are you a strategic thinker and dynamic leader ready to drive excellence in project controls We are seeking an experienced professional to spearhead the provision and maintenance of a comprehensive Project Controls framework within the Defence Nuclear Technology Systems (DNTS) Division in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the provision of a coordinated Project Controls framework across a directorate or business area taking actions to ensure defined business objectives are achieved.
To maintain a strategic overview of the work programmes and provide guidance and advice to SubDirectorate Operations Directors Heads of Programme Projects and Functions.
Through assessment and analysis of trends and variances identify proposed corrective and advantageous strategies to maximize the benefits to the business.
Agree the Project Controls level of service and staffing plan and engage the DNTS wide Project Controls Capability to assign appropriate resources whilst proactively rotating resources to ensure alignment with the DNTS Business Strategy.
Deliver the approved Project Control level of service and resource lead and manage the Project Controls teams in the delivery of the service utilising appropriate KBS Mission Technology systems processes and procedures.
Lead the production maintenance and monitoring of integrated scope schedules cost baselines and underpinning estimates at an appropriate level of detail and the application of effective change management processes.
Implement timely performance monitoring trending variance analysis and forecasting processes and provide periodic reports on performance and status issues through the utilisation and ongoing development of the DNTS and MTS Electronic Project Status Report (ePSR) process.
Interface with internal and external clients and contractors as required including schedule and financial integration assurance validation and reconciliation.
Ensure the adherence to the DNTS project programme and enterprise risk process providing estimate and schedule support.
Perform regular functional peer reviews and support the Project Controls QA process.
Communicate significant unresolved concerns regarding project and programme cost schedule scope or Project Controls fundamentals to the DNTS Operations Director.
Supervise the Project Controls personnel in the discharge of their duties and sets expectations of the standard of the delivery service.
Mentor and support the development of Project Controls personnel within their supervision and across the wider DNTS business to ensure future alignment with the DNTS Business Strategy.
Accountabilities
Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders across DNTS DTS and MTS.
The highlighting of any current and potential issues with project or portfolio time cost or risks to the DNTS Operations Director Heads of Programme Projects Operating Units and Functions.
Maintain compliance with approved processes procedures and Project Plans.
Assure validity and accuracy of all ePSR data on behalf of the DNTS Ops Director.
The active contribution to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Project Controls.
Take a proactive role in the continuous improvement of project reporting across all elements of the DNTS business.
Support the mobilisation of all new DNTS Bids Projects and/or Business Campaigns.
What we Need
The preferred candidate will have experience in the Government and Defence sector along with a background in the services and/or construction industry. Additionally expertise in ERP migration is highly desirable.
