Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate holistic care from a traumainformed strengthbased nonjudgmental perspective.
Assist RN in obtaining information for the nursing assessment as needed upon admission to the program.
Take and record measurements of blood pressure temperature heart rate etc.
Provide ongoing care and observation of clients in treatment relative to their treatment plan and diagnoses and complete chart/progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a detailed accurate and timely manner.
Assists with completion of drug screenings of the clients as needed.
Administers medications and documents according to AR CARES Policy.
Assists Physician or APRN as needed during medication clinics and via verbal or written requests/orders.
Assists in managing lab orders and reports.
Provide health education to clients in treatment through 1:1 interactions and in groups on various topics including but not limited to smoking cessation risks of HIV TB needlesharing etc.
Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary team (psychiatrist or APRN therapist case managers peer recovery support specialists behavioral instructors etc. in the treatment planning and care of the clients admitted to AR CARES.
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment and communicates pertinent data to other service providers as needed.
Assists in preparation and helps maintain compliance with regulations and standards from various oversight and licensing entities such as DHS Medicaid The Joint Commission etc.
Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities and inservice training.
Attends regular staff meetings as required.
Responsibility is assumed for continuing educational and professional development and contributions are made to the professional growth of others. Continuing education etc. will be documented and copies provided to the personnel department to be kept in employees record.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor Director of Nursing Program Administrator or other applicable personnel.
Qualifications:
Arkansas Licensed Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
Current Arkansas Licensure
Meet requirements for privileging status as specified by the Standards of Methodist Family Health and its operating entities Methodist Behavioral Hospital and the United Methodist Childrens Home.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in mental health (inpatient or outpatient); preferably with women.
Experience working in substance abuse/use treatment (inpatient or outpatient)
Specialized training or certification such as LPTN in mental health and/or substance abuse/use.
Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Mandatory Requirements:
Ability to document accurately and professionally.
Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions.
Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training CPR & First Aid
Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health regardless of gender.
Must have good auditory visual and olfactory ability.
Requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and intermittently walk stand stoop kneel crouch and reach with hands and arms.
Lift and hold at least 50 pounds for one minute.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools or controls.
Must be able to maintain effective audio visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations communicating with others reading and writing and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.
Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means to review information and enter/retrieve data to see and read characters on a computer screen chart or other treatment items.
Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties.
