Job Description

Summary

Under the general supervision of the administrative director of operations the supervisor oversees the daily operations of the department. This includes assisting the department meet its operational financial clinical quality service and patient satisfaction goals.. The supervisor is the primary resource person for staff. Responsibilities also include collaboration with other departments and department support of hospital programs and services.

Education

Two years of formal training or education in specialty or related specialty beyond the high school level (e.g. Associates Degree). Can be working on Bachelor Degree or willing to start a Bachelor Degree program.

Certification Registration & Licensure

Registration required: Registered Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care

Licensure required: NH license to Practice Respiratory Care

Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. NRP required within 6 months of hire.

Experience

4 years experience in field. 2 years progressive supervisory or preceptor experience. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team as well as be a team member (Must possess knowledge specific for diverse age and multicultural population)

Responsibilities

  • Supports staff recruitment and retention efforts. Develops staff and manages performance.

  • Participates in establishing and monitoring department productivity quality fiscal goals and staffing.

  • Oversees departmental core processes.

  • Meets customer needs and participates in efforts to improve customer service.

  • Acts as a conduit for department and organizational communication among staff and others.

  • Supports the team.

  • Participates in and supports departmental and organizational change.

  • Ensures compliance with State Local Federal regulatory requirements.

  • Takes responsibility for individual performance goals.

  • Meet all departmental professional and technical requirements.

  • Will be the system educator will be under direction of the Respiratory Department Director.

  • Will maintain employee education files arrange orientation for new hires inservices of new equipment and supplies.

  • Arrange in services and education for nursing at all facilities as it pertains to Respiratory.

  • Staff as needed doing patient care.
