Job Description

Overall Purpose

The Float Patient Service Specialist (PSS) is responsible for supporting the front desk and administrative operations across various clinic locations within the P3 Medical Group. This position serves as a flexible resource to provide staffing coverage where neededincluding rural and highneed clinics. When not assigned to a clinic the Float PSS will perform administrative duties at the Shared Services office. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming organized and efficient environment for our patients and their families.

Work Location & Schedule

  • Home base: Shared Services Office
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 5/8s 8 hours per day)
  • Travel: Required throughout the Medical Group footprint including rural areas
Essential Functions
  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information
  • Schedule appointments and followups manage cancellations and reschedules
  • Answer multiline phone system and handle patient inquiries or direct them appropriately
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning faxing and managing medical records
  • Ensure waiting area is tidy and welcoming
  • Support back office staff and providers as needed
  • Work independently in various clinic environments with minimal supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Contribute to clinic workflow efficiency and positive patient experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
Experience
  • 1 years experience in a healthcarerelated field
  • Familiarity with Athena or Cerner a plus
  • Previous experience in a float or multisite position is highly preferred
Education
  • High school diploma/GED required
Licenses & Certifications
  • None required; BLS preferred
Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation is required for travel to various clinic locations
  • Must be comfortable with occasional lastminute schedule or location changes
  • Mileage reimbursement provided per company policy
