The & Online Products (B&OP) organization is the powerhouse behind not just the platform but also the marketing ecosystem for all Blizzard games delivering seamless experiences to millions of players worldwide. Its where game universes come together and were looking for a visionary leader to help shape its future through design systems.

As the UX Design Lead for Shared Technologies you will be at the helm of Blizzards multibrand design system where you will drive consistency innovation and scalability across all teams. Your mission is to develop and execute a clear vision for a design system that empowers teams enhances user experiences and fuels the creative magic that makes Blizzard legendary. From UI frameworks to interaction patterns you will define and evolve the design foundation that supports and Blizzards global gaming ecosystem.

Were looking for a strategic and handson leader who thrives in a highly collaborative fastpaced environment. You should possess toptier communication skills an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to champion design at every level of the organization. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in design systems product design and scalable innovation with a proven track record of identifying researching designing and shipping features and products through a design system. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position with some work onsite and some workfromhome. The potential home studio for this role Irvine CA.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision for the design system ensuring it aligns with both business objectives and user experience needs.

  • Lead and nurture a team of talented product designers by providing mentorship career development opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

  • Partner with crossfunctional teams on largescale design initiatives advocating for players needs and ensuring a cohesive user experience across multiple products.

  • Promote adoption and education by developing training programs onboarding resources and evangelizing systematic design thinking throughout the organization.

  • Push the boundaries of design excellence by continuously evolving the design system based on research data and realworld usage ensuring it remains innovative scalable and adaptable.

  • Create and maintain robust documentation that clearly articulates design principles component best practices and style guidelines to maintain consistency across teams.

  • Collaborate with design leadership to refine design strategies explore emerging technologies and uphold industry best practices driving the continuous evolution of Blizzards design standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in user experience design interaction design or similar

  • 2 years of leadership experience guiding and mentoring designers while fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

  • Proven expertise in building and scaling design systems with a track record of driving consistency and efficiency across products.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate design concepts advocate for design decisions and collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute a design system vision that aligns with both user needs and business objectives.

  • Technical fluency with a solid understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML CSS and JavaScript and how design integrates into development workflows (no coding required)

  • Experience working within Agile/Kanban development teams and using JIRA

  • Experience or enthusiasm for tackling the challenges of multibrand design systems and scaling them across diverse products.

  • Passion for games with a pulse of the gaming market

  • A love of Figma and design documentation

These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this roles range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates new hire compensation is negotiable.
