Community Faculty Preceptor Family Medicine

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mentor and supervise Family Medicine residents at the MAHEC Family Health Center Biltmore outpatient clinical setting
• Provide educational instruction evaluations and feedback to enhance residents clinical skills
• Provide direct clinical supervision and oversight to Family Medicine Residents in the Outpatient setting
• Provide supervision for common Family Medicine office procedures
• Must be willing to commit to 8 hours per month

ADMINISTRATIVE:

• Work with departmental staff and administration to attain the strategic objectives of MAHEC including patient safety patient and other customer satisfaction maintenance and enhancement of public perception and fiscal health
• Participate based on experience/skills on committees and work groups as appropriate within the department and within MAHEC.

Adjustment of responsibilities and performance reviews will be discussed with and determined by the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine.

• Communication Ability to effectively present information in oneonone situations to patients required. Ability to effectively present information in group situations and respond to questions from individuals and groups required.
• Analyze Ability to read analyze and interpret professional journals technical procedures legal documents or governmental regulations required.
• Documentation Ability to document medical information into patient records/charts required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of a Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Boardcertified in Family Medicine
• Clinical teaching and mentoring experience preferred.
• Passion for community health and resident education

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

• Licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina.
• Certification by the American Board of Family Physicians

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Experience using Electronic Medical Records preferred.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Spanish speaking skills preferred.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the Chair Department of Family Medicine.
