We are seeking qualified individuals for the opening of our teaching restaurant Eatery 73 at Austin Community College. Our ideal candidate is kind positive and works well with others. They also believe in quality consistency and working in a clean organized and inclusive environment where respect and dignity is prioritized. Line cooks are a crucial part of our restaurant operations who prepare cook and plate dishes; assist in organizing ingredients; and help keep the kitchen clean for service.Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a professional kitchen
Knowledge and understanding of safety sanitation and food handling procedures.
Understanding of how to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail
Teamoriented attitude
Display a working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
Consistently ensure that station mise en place is prepped seasoned and stocked throughout service and overall station remains clean and organized.
Effectively participates in a professionally run service period ensuring excellence in cooking timing plate assembly and communication.

Duties & Responsibilities
Cook/Prepare plated food in an efficient & timely manner while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines required by Executive Chef and ACC Culinary Department.
Follow recipe guidelines procedures & techniques required by Executive Chef and ACC Culinary Department.
Adhere to forecasting/par levels and prep levels as set by Executive Chef.
Communicate with Executive Chef & coworkers in a professional and timely manner regarding needs of the business equipment and product integrity.
Adhere to and maintain safety & sanitation standards at all times in accordance with ACC Culinary Departments policies and procedures.
Checkin and store incoming orders/products following FIFO & labeling procedures to ensure proper rotation and usage.
This is for a parttime 19 hours a week position.
