The Materials Area Manager will lead materials team members in a larger or complex area of materials to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and services. This role is a key player to assist in supporting Defense Aftermarket operations. This position is responsible for planning developing and implementing inventory control and material flow processes and systems across the plant. Provides leadership toward resolving materials management and inventory control issues and leads resolution activities where needed. This role will develop high performance work teams with ongoing coaching and direction both formal and informal enabling a People First Culture.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Lead larger or more complex areas/processes within the materials team in the assigned facility taking ownership of safety productivity efficiency and accuracy of transactions and inventory.
  • Lead production team members in a union and/or nonunion environment on the materials process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise.
  • Provide performance feedback and appraisals to team members to guide their development
  • Communicate and execute short and longterm materials strategies; drive for results focused on meeting materials goals and ensure budgeted labor is within plan.
  • Educate and enforce quality safety and 5S standards and processes and recommend changes as opportunities arise
  • Assist in the development and management of the flow of materials internally between plants and offsite warehousing.
  • Drive cost control programs to continually improve and produce profitable performance for the business.
  • Monitor departmental capacity to ensure proper resources are in place to meet materials requirements
  • Train employees on materials processes including but not limited to inventory issues credits rejects receipts and transfers.
  • Work cross functionally with Purchasing Operations Finance Safety and Quality to optimize processes and performance across disciplines.
  • Review daily shortages due to inventory errors determine causes and corrective actions.
  • Develop use of technology in systems and processes.
  • Other materialsrelated projects and assignments as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree with 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range:

$82000.00 $132800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
