Job Description
THE POSITION

In this vital role you will be responsible for overseeing an inmate work crew in the performance of tasks related to the operation maintenance and repair of our boiler plant at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will oversee and guide inmates during an assigned shift in the maintenance operation and repair of a boiler plant that produces steam hot water chilled water or electricity or receive these services from external vendors. It is essential to monitor the plants systems make the necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance and accurately track fuel usage and the generation of steam hot water or chilled water. Additionally you will be responsible for suggesting improvements to procedures or equipment to increase the plants efficiency. The job may also require operating auxiliary electric generating equipment for regular electricity production or as a backup during emergencies. You will work independently to analyze problems and implement effective solutions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 40hour work week
- Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sunday Saturday with a 30minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation maintenance and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
