Today Prysmian is the largest manufacturer of cables and accessories in the UK. The Wrexham site which employs in the region of 350 workers is a manufacturing site as well as an Energy Network Solution hub. We produce Low Medium and High Voltage cables up to 132kV as well as accessories and components; using highgrade fireresistant materials invariably sought after by key institutions and multinational companies. Wrexham also manufactures submarine cables used for offshore wind farms.
About The Role
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team at the Wrexham Site as an Area Manager. This key role involves providing operational leadership in our components business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring production resources are positioned to deliver forecasted output maintain compliance to specification and cost leading the drive to continuously improve processes capitalise on opportunities when they arise and safeguard the wellbeing of our employees assets and environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to Departments Health Safety and Environmental policies.
Plan and monitor to ensure delivery objectives of objectives.
Deploy Continuous Improvement methodologies to achieve challenging targets in labour productivity machine utilisation material usage and s / waste reduction projects.
Daily deployment meetings with Production Control to determine and agree the production plan ensuring that all resources are in place to achieve this requirement.
Motivating developing and engaging the team to achieve goals and objectives.
Identifying training needs to ensure that skill base is not a constraint.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideally be educated to HNC or higher level in a technical discipline or qualified through experience and possess knowledge of production processes.
Sound experience within Manufacturing / Operational Management
Experience of team supervision is also desirable.
Selfmotivated and decisive problem solver with excellent communication skills
Proven ability to lead motivate coordinate and direct Team Leaders and Production Operators to achieve departmental targets and objectives.
Please note that the jobholder will be required to work in a flexible manner according to operational requirements.
