The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a costeffective cloud contact center) our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces AppStream etc. Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint) and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out Amazon One) for retail sports travel and other verticals.

Amazon Connect is the result of the ten years of development that went into building the tools Amazon uses to provide its award winning customer service at massive scale and launching it as a publicly available AWS service. With Amazon Connect you can create your own cloudbased contact center and be taking calls in minutes. Amazon Connect and Contact Control Panel team serve hundreds of thousands of agents daily. We have a rapidly growing customer base and an exciting charter in front of us that includes solving highly complex engineering and algorithmic problems. We are looking for passionate and talented Software Development Engineers to join us to innovate on this new service that addresses customer needs to build modern contact centers in the cloud. The position represents a rare opportunity to be a part of a fastgrowing business soon after launch and help shape the technology and product as we grow. You will be playing a crucial role in developing the next generation contact center and get the opportunity to design and deliver scaleable resilient systems while maintaining a constant customer focus.
As a developer on our team youll own code endtoend from design to development and work closely with senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS. Youll have a sound understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical industry experience working across the stack with technology involving React Shared Workers microservices and more.

1 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
2 years of noninternship professional software development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
5 years experience building successful production software systems.
The ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life.
Communication skills for both a technical and business audience.
Experience leveraging object oriented design practices in Java C and or .Net.
Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
Handson expertise in many disparate technologies typically ranging from frontend user interfaces through to backend systems and all points in between
Experience in driving systemic operational improvements
Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Masters degree in computer science or related technical discipline

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market.
