Requirements of this role:

  • A multistate license is required for this Telehealth role
  • This is a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opportunity
  • Emory Healthcares PRN requirement is a minimum of 24 hours per month
  • LPN must be available to train onsite from the Northlake location a minimum of 3 days/week during the 812 week training period
    • The length of the training period will be determined by the number of days you can commit to training each week.
  • LPNs will be required to work rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Emory Healthcares Telehealth Nursing team is unable to guarantee you will have the same weekdays off following your weekend schedule.

Department Description:

Nurses in the Telehealth Nursing department demonstrate strong competency in using various telecommunication technologies to provide direct virtual nursing care. Telehealth Nursing RNs triage prioritize patient needs collaborate with patients to develop care plans direct them to the appropriate level of care and provide referrals to Emory services and other resources to ensure a comprehensive care experience. Telehealth Nursing LPNs assist patients with prescription management across specialties.

PRN / Shift Varies based upon Business Needs

We are seeking a capable Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in routine nursing situations within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed provider the LPN assists in patient care treatment and comfort.
  • This role is an integral part of the healthcare team ensuring quality care in alignment with Emory Healthcares patient and familycentered care standards.
  • Provide patient care based on an individualized plan delegated by the Registered Nurse/Physician.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions including vital signs wound care drains and lab values.
  • Assist with medical procedures treatments and medication administration as per scope of practice.
  • Collect and document patient data using specialized equipment as needed (e.g. glucometer pulse oximeter).
  • Maintain a clean safe and therapeutic environment following safety and infection control protocols. Communication & Collaboration
  • Establish and maintain communication with the healthcare team patients and families.
  • Inform the supervising Registered Nurse/Physician about patient activities observations and changes in condition.
  • Provide patient and family education related to health conditions treatment plans and home care.
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of patient medical records.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and patient safety standards in all interactions.
  • Follow Emory Healthcares policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Improvement & Professional Development
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in patient care.
  • Conduct or assist with inservice training and continuous learning opportunities.
  • May serve on sectional departmental or organizational committees as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
  • Experience: Previous experience preferred but not required. Licensure: A valid unencumbered license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia. Skills: Strong patient care communication and documentation skills. Certifications:
  • BLS Skills:
  • Critical thinking and data synthesis.
  • Strong telephone communication skills and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills over various mediums.
  • Multitasking in a fastpaced environment with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills encompassing cultural ethical economic and access to healthcare resource understanding when interacting with patients.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and eprescribing. Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint TEAMS Outlook and eMR and other electronic platforms WFH: If work from home is assigned must sign and follow the Emory work from home agreement (WFH).
  • Access to highspeed broadband and reliable internet in your home.
  • Private and confidential workspace in your home.
  • Computer proficiency in multiple systems including intermediate knowledge of Windowsbased applications (Microsoft Office suite etc).
