The sterile processing department at Sanford is responsible to: Pick all clean supplies for each surgery to clean & sterilize all surgical instruments.In this department you wear surgical scrubs so please come to work in your sweatpants and change into scrubs!
You are never required to work outside your shift hours but overtime is often available.
You are assigned 1 holiday to work per year.
Our department has room for growth with 6 different levels of responsibility and pay.
Set schedule of hours 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday only. NO call!
Summary
Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies equipment and instruments are properly inventoried decontaminated assembled inspected packaged sterilized stored distributed and tracked in quality and timely manner throughout the health system.Job Description
Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and followup according to procedure or management instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and must have strong communication and computer skills.
Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.
