Under supervision of teacher/therapist to which assigned and works with members of the students support teamJOB GOALSThe Special Education Paraprofessional functions as an Instructional Paraprofessional with additional responsibilities to include differentiated instruction behavior management and/or applied behavioral analysis under the direct supervision of the teacher or team.*The Instructional Paraprofessional works under the direct supervision of the teacher team and administrator. The Instructional Paraprofessional works with the teaching staff to maintain a clean safe and efficient classroom environment that is conducive to learning. The Paraprofessional must work with the student to facilitate inclusion opportunities within the regular education RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures confidentiality in regard to all student informationReads and understand the Individual Education Program (IEP) for the student in your charge*Must be willing and able minimally to lift 35 lbs. and assist with personal care activities (i.e. toileting feeding mobility).Has the ability to learn and use assistive work closely with Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists to learn skills necessary to support student learning and the social/emotional and educational development of studentsEnsures that safety is maintained throughout the day in relation to student peers and other staffAssists with routine classroom clerical and maintenance activitiesImplements behavior management programs if neededPerforms general classroom duties as directed by classroom teacherPerforms lunch transportation and recess duties as assigned Implements inclusive activities teacherplanned lessons as directed by the classroom and/or special education teacherCommunicates student issues and concerns to teacher/team membersMaintains a professional attitude and relationship with all staffAssists teachers in meeting IEP requirementsDemonstrates a commitment to professional growth attend professional development opportunities as required *Collects data or additional assessment information as requested *Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisorTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTSchool calendar yearCompensation according to contractEvaluation annually by school administration in consultation with the classroom teacher* Special Ed ParaprofessionalStart date: April 7 2025 or sooner for training purposes.
