Specialist Geriatrician Aged Care & Rehabilitation
Aged Care & Rehabilitation 2 Positions Starting August 2025 .7FTE

Located 25 kilometres north of Perths CBD the hospital is wellsituated and its management supports and encourages staff to achieve worklife balance while actively supporting their professional development and careers.
Position Profile
As the hospital continues its expansion we are looking to employ two Aged Care and Rehabilitation Consultants to join the department. DRAC is a multidisciplinary unit that manages older adults with subacute or chronic conditions.
Specialist geriatricians rotate within the department on a sixmonthly basis. The department is structured as follows:
- Three subacute teams each resourced with a consultant registrar and intern.
- Two perioperative consultants run a fiveday weekday service including a senior registrar and the periop clinic.
- Day Therapy Service which includes management of clinics along with supervision of either a senior registrar or service ward registrar.
- The consultant managed GEM ward which has 17beds split between two wards and includes a senior registrar and RMO.
- The consultant managed 20bed rehabilitation ward that includes a senior registrar an RMO and an intern.
- The consultant managed 20bed ward with TCP awaiting patients at Glengarry Private Hospital.
- Consult liaison service which is resourced with a senior registrar.
Further information:
- Depending on FTE department rotations may be allocated solely in combination or in combination with clinic duties.
- There is an expectation to attend departmental meetings and teaching sessions.
- We are looking to hire two Consultants who can start in August 2025.
- Position 1 will be managing our aged care outpatient service.
- Position 2 will be assigned to our perioperative service. Periop is a fivedayperweek service that delivers care to our older patients undergoing orthopedic vascular and spinal procedures.
- Consultant positions would partake in the rotational system outlined above.
- There is an expectation to be available for two oncall rosters.
- Weekend geriatric perioperative roster.
- General Geriatric oncall roster.
- The department offers acute subacute periop outpatient and rehabilitation medicine exposure.
- We support the ability to practice medicine in the private sector if desired.
- We offer scope to develop and refine leadership skills.
Salary
JHC is looking to employ consultants with a salary range commensurate with experience and aligned to AMA WA 2024 (base salary plus 11.5 superannuation and professional development allowance).
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent.
- Registered with APHRA.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge and clinical experience in Geriatric Medicine.
