Job Description
The Andrology section is seeking a phlebotomist at their clinic location in Research Park. This position is Category I: Mandatory Required on Campus or at Health Care Facilities as long as you are healthy without Covid19 symptoms.
Responsibilities
Obtains blood specimens by established venipuncture and capillary techniques. Labels samples participates in specimen analysis and completes essential records. Maintains records of tests performed and samples taken. Enters and retrieves computer data. Will participate in patient check in for testing. May check clients picture identification and obtain photographs and fingerprints. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patients status and provide care as described in the departments policies and procedures manual.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalency (six months of phlebotomy experience). This position is patientsensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
