Overview
Our Kidney Dialysis Unit (KDU) located at Moses H Cone Hospital is a 10bay suite with a primary focus on patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). We also focus on patients who need Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Apheresis services to include therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) red cell exchange and white blood cell / platelet depletion.
This is a fastpaced procedural area with remarkable team collaboration and diversity. Superior Management team which fosters open communication increased knowledge and skills for RNs based on individual career goals.

The Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Operating within a dialysis unit this role collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care monitor patients during procedures and ensure adherence to dialysis protocols for optimal patient wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Administers prescribed medications and treatments including heparin administration and fluid management to patients undergoing dialysis.
Operates and maintains dialysis equipment ensuring its proper functioning and cleanliness for each session.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to patients specific needs.
Educates patients and their families about the dialysis process selfcare techniques and dietary restrictions to promote optimal outcomes and quality of life.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Associates Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
BLS (CPR)American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
