The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorders office is the face of public service for our diverse and vibrant county. We are seeking multiple Auto Title Technicians to join our various Motor Vehicle offices. The Auto Title Technician is responsible for assisting the public with titling and registering vehicles. Processes legal records and collects taxes and fees for motor vehicle titles and registrations. Determines accuracy and completeness of required information and documents surrendered for processing. Determines proper registration and plates and permits to issue. Verifies that transactions and vehicles adhere to regulations. Responds to phone inquiries regarding titling and registration. Collects fees and reconciles funds daily.
We have some vacancies specifically for candidates with one to two years of County Motor Vehicle or State Department of Revenue experience already familiar with DRIVES. Other vacancies do not require that experience and will be trained after hiring.
Please note we have multiple vacancies at different locations including Arvada Lakewood and Golden. Schedule: This position requires all onsite/inoffice work and operates on a 4day workweek (MondayThursday 7am5:45pm)
Target Hiring Range: $20.62 $26.00 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education experience and skills. Those with County or State Motor Vehicle DRIVES experience are eligible for the higher end of compensation range.
*Spanish speaking ability is preferred but not . Jefferson County Motor Vehicle has a policy to additionally compensate workforce members who are able to demonstrate bilingual language skills.
*Must be available to occasionally work at any of the five motor vehicle branches.

Qualifications:

Minimal Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of one year of related experience in data entry basic ten key cashiering or customer service experience.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Spanish speaking ability is preferred but not . Jefferson County Motor Vehicle has a policy to additionally compensate workforce members who are able to demonstrate bilingual language skills.
One to two years of County Motor Vehicle or State Department of Revenue experience and experience with DRIVES preferred but not .
Work experience in government high public contact and/or handling cash professionally is preferred.
Knowledge skills and attributes that would be beneficial and lead to success in this role include:
Strong customer service skills and experience with high volume face to face customer contact
Ability to explain complex rules and regulations to customers who may be unfamiliar with or challenge the statute driven requirements for fees.
Ability to problem solve by utilizing resources/researching to find solutions that are best for the customer.
Background as a bank teller retail sales associate or related profession typicallydo well in this role.
