We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Radio Driver Test Engineer with handson experience in ORAN radio integration radio driver validation and platformlevel debugging. This is a critical role where you will work closely with platform software and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of ORAN radios within cuttingedge wireless systems. This position will be located at our headquarters in Syracuse NY.
Responsibilities
- Design develop and execute test plans for radio drivers in alignment with ORAN architecture and 3GPP specifications.
- Validate ORAN radio integration (ORU/ODU) including fronthaul protocols and CUSMplane interfaces.
- Perform functional performance regression and stress testing of radio drivers across different hardware platforms.
- Debug driver issues at platform levelworking across kernel hardware abstraction layers and interface logic.
- Collaborate with platform and software teams to reproduce isolate and resolve complex systemlevel issues.
- Ensure compliance with ORAN specifications contribute to alignment with evolving ORAN Alliance standards.
- Develop and enhance automation scripts to improve regression coverage and test reliability.
- Analyze logs and traces using tools such as Wireshark QXDM and platformspecific debuggers.
- Provide clear documentation defect reports and test summaries for stakeholders and development teams.
- Support RF integration lab setup and field test simulations UE emulators and RF instruments.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering Communication Engineering or equivalent. Masters preferred.
- 5 years of experience in radio driver testing platform integration or embedded systems validation.
- Solid experience working with ORAN radios ORU/ODU platforms and fronthaul configurations.
- Proficient in Linux systems kernel logs device trees and lowlevel debugging.
- Handson working experience with stack layers like NAS RRC PDCP RLC MAC PHY should able to debug issues independently.
- Good understanding of 3GPP 36/38 series) and ORAN Alliance standards
- Handson experience with tools such as TM500 Amarisoft Simnovus or similar UE/ Radio simulators.
Additional Experience and Knowledge a Plus
- Experience in Channel Emulators like Keysight PropSim Azimuth.
- Experience on Kubernetes and containerized environment.
- Experience in automation using python robot framework
$85000 $100000 a year
The US national annual base salary range for this is $85000 $100000. The range includes base salary that is expected to be paid for this role. Actual base salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to the scope and complexity of the role the successful candidates relevant experience skills and knowledge peer and market data and geographic location. This role will also include a bonus plan.
