Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for an innovative resultsoriented and strategic Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) individual who is comfortable diving into complex problems and can develop solutions to recommend business decisions. You have a departmentwide view of the analytical solutions that you build and you consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results companywide. You should be skilled in database design conduct analytics using SQL and Python and build lightweight tools and methods for others to replicate and scale their work. You are comfortable dealing with large and complex data sets and have experience building selfservice dashboards and using visualization tools especially Quicksight. You should have strong analytical and communication skills and ability to work through ambiguous problems in a fast paced environment to develop and define key business questions and requirements.
Key job responsibilities Design build and maintain automated reporting Quicksight dashboards and analyses to enable selfservice of data needs allowing you to focus on answering hard and ambiguous problems. Write highquality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift MySQL Oracle). Ability to break down and solve complex problems while actively engaging with internal partners throughout the organization to meet and exceed customer service levels & transportrelated KPIs Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity test design analysis validation and documentation while driving scalable solutions. Understand data resources and know how when and which to use (and which not to use) Continue to move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect data. Find a solution around the problem that still maintains a high analytical bar. You do not suffer from analysis paralysis. Ability to manage through conflict with a positive flexible and professional attitude Communicate analysis results and techniques both verbally and in writing clearly and confidently to peers and business partners. Explain analysis results to the stakeholders through verbal and written communications.
3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab Bachelors degree in BI finance engineering statistics computer science mathematics finance or equivalent quantitative field
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with largescale complex datasets
