Laboratory Coordinator MFD

Avantor is seeking a dedicated sciencesavvy Laboratory Coordinator to become a key part of our team in Cambridge. In this dynamic role you will oversee the daily operations of one of our laboratories ensuring smooth workflow managing inventory and addressing any challenges that arise. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will play a crucial part in maintaining a highperforming lab environment.

Please note that this role is not operational and does not involve handson scientific tasks or research. Instead you will oversee the laboratory space and operations without managing a team of associates.

This fulltime permanent position is based at our brandnew facility at The Discovery Centre BioMedical Campus in Cambridge. Alongside an attractive salary we offer multiple benefits including a bonus pension scheme private medical and dental care and an additional day off for your birthday.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 17:00

The Team

You will work alongside 22 Laboratory Coordinators who support operational efficiency in the laboratory serve as the point of contact for scientists queries and undertake projects related to equipment services improvement and space planning. This role is part of our Lab and Production Services department supporting major pharmaceutical companies and laboratories worldwide in the Research and Development sector of the Life Sciences industry.

What were looking for:

• Education: A bachelors degree in a scientific discipline preferably or equivalent laboratory experience.
• Experience:
  • Previous Laboratory Manager experience or work in a highactivity laboratory as a coordinator
  • Proven ability to partner with other teams and suppliers delivering results in a matrix environment.
  • Experience managing multiple internal and external partners/stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative work style.
  • Knowledge of SHE requirements and GxP regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

How youll thrive and create an impact:

• Manage one laboratorys operations serving as the primary contact for scientists on materials flow facilities maintenance equipment availability and process optimisation
• Maintain laboratory operational efficiency by coordinating with facility maintenance suppliers and scheduling maintenance with minimal disruption
• Resolve queries such as broken equipment outofstock consumables and alternative product sourcing
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on equipment change control and optimising people processes
• Investigate deviations from Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through root cause analysis and accurately report findings
